Anthro and Feral
The anthro and feral distinction is one of the few genuine dividing lines in the fandom, and writers have firm preferences either way. Most of the room plays anthro. State which you are before a scene starts rather than discovering the mismatch three paragraphs in. It is a compatibility question, not a moral one.
Suits, Murrsuits and the Physical Side
Fursuit talk is constant: makers, fans, ventilation, the eternal head-versus-partial debate. Murrsuit conversation belongs here too, since this is an adult room and nobody will be strange about it. Suiting is a minority of the fandom, just the loudest part in photographs. Two styles dominate furry roleplay, and mixing them badly is the most common reason a promising scene dies.
Action Tags
Asterisks or plain third person for what your character does, ordinary text for what they say. Fast, punchy, easy to trade back and forth at speed. This is the default in a busy room and it is where most people start. Sexting styles breaks the format down properly.
Literary Paragraph Play
Full prose, past tense, several sentences a turn, real attention to pacing. Slower and far more immersive. Match your partner's length rather than out-writing them, because a three-line reply to a nine-line post reads as boredom whether you meant it that way or not. Negotiating Before the Scene
The fandom is unusually good at this, and it is worth stealing whatever you write. Settle six things first.
- Species and body type for both characters.
- Tone: comedic, romantic, feral-edged, slow burn.
- Roles, including who tops and whether that can shift.
- Kinks you actively want in the scene.
- Hard limits, stated plainly and not hinted at.
- Out-of-character signals for pausing or stopping.
Two minutes of that prevents an hour of quiet mismatch. The Hard Line, and the Rest of the Rules
Zero Tolerance for Cub Content
No cub content. Ever. No exceptions. Every character in every scene, in every room, is an adult. This is not a preference, a soft rule, or something moderation weighs against context. Childlike character designs are refused. Age-play framing dressed as furry roleplay is refused. The "technically a five hundred year old dragon" argument is refused, and has been every single time anyone has tried it. Posting it, requesting it, or advertising it elsewhere gets you removed permanently on sight, with no warning and no appeal. That is the entire policy and it does not bend.
Consent, Credit and Shared Art
Scenes are consented into before they start and can be ended by either writer at any point without a reason. Nobody is obliged to stay in character through discomfort. Art gets shared with credit to the artist, in the right space, and never anyone's private images. Share what is yours to share, never a partner's or an ex's, which is the same line that governs nudes exchange.
