LewdChat is a free adult chat site with live text rooms and one-on-one private messages. The whole thing runs in a browser tab. This page walks through how it works end to end, from opening the chat to what happens to your messages afterwards.
Getting in takes about thirty seconds
Nothing is required before you start. No email address, no phone number, no social login, nothing to confirm in an inbox afterwards. You click through to the chat, type a nickname, and you are in a room.
That nickname is the only thing anyone sees. Reuse it and the regulars will start recognizing you; drop it and start fresh tomorrow. Both are normal.
Where you land, and where you can go
Most people start in the main room, which runs fast and explicit. The chat rooms page lists everything else that is open. Broadly, what happens on the site splits about evenly between quick sexting and long-form roleplay, and there are rooms built for both.
Beyond those, there are dozens of kink rooms covering BDSM, dom/sub dynamics, pet play and chastity among others; gay, lesbian and trans-friendly rooms that are their own spaces rather than tags on the main room; a nudes exchange; and rooms in other languages.
You can move between rooms freely and be in more than one. When a conversation is worth having alone, you open a private message. Those are between the two of you, with no audience and no scroll-back for anyone else.
What it costs
Nothing, and there is no version of it that costs something. No premium tier, no tokens, no credits, no card field anywhere on the site. Ads are what pay for the servers, which is the whole reason there has never been a paywall in front of the chat. If something claiming to be LewdChat asks you for payment details, it is not us.
Who is actually on the other end
People, typing live. No bots working the rooms, no AI companions, no scripted personas. That cuts both ways honestly: it means the rooms are as busy as they are, so evenings are dense and fast while early mornings are quiet and better suited to longer conversations.
If you are weighing this against an AI chat service, we wrote the comparison out properly on the AI girlfriend page rather than pretending the option does not exist.
Moderation, and what is not allowed
Moderators are people, in the rooms, around the clock. Reports made in the #report room are usually dealt with while you wait, and ModMail on Discord works too. The rules are short and they are enforced.
One rule sits above the rest and has no grey area: share what is yours to share. Posting a partner's, an ex's or anyone else's images without their consent is a permanent ban with no appeal. Everyone here is an adult and nobody is ever obliged to send anything to keep a conversation going.
What happens to your messages
What the site keeps, why, and for how long is set out plainly in the privacy policy. Read it rather than assuming, because the short version is that you should treat anything you type in a room as recordable.
Worth being clear about one limit: anyone in a room with you can screenshot or copy what you type, in public rooms and private messages alike. No chat service can prevent that. The safety guide covers how people handle that in practice, and is LewdChat safe answers the question directly if that is what brought you here.
If you have not done this before
The hardest message is the first one. How to sext and our sexting tips cover openers that get replies, and sexting styles explains the difference between quick explicit chat and action-tag or literary roleplay, which is worth knowing before you walk into a scene. The rest is in the guides library.
Anything this page did not answer is probably in the FAQ, and if it is not, contact us.
